Background

Amund doesn’t know much about his past. What he does know comes from what he was wearing when he came to and that is he was once a thrall of the Elder Primal, Odin. Riding upon his steed, warring against adventurers and innocents alike.

One day he simply woke up with not a memory in his head and wearing a suit of the Dark Divinity’s armor. Not much is known how he was tempered, yet seemingly broke free. It could of been that Amund broken free due to awakening to the Echo, or that Odin saw someone more fit and willingly released him from servitude.

The wake up wasn’t pleasant as the Slyphs didn’t take kindly to a miqo’te in the Slyphlands, let alone deep enough to be near the Hanging Barbs. With his mind blank, void of all memories and in an unknown place with Slyphs assaulting him from every direction, he ran.

After being chased out of the Shroud, Amund found his way to Coerthas and was smuggled into Ishgard by a passerby who took pity on him. It was in Ishgard he learned about Odin and what the Elder Primal does. With that knowledge he was wracked with guilt, knowing his body was being used to slay countless adventurers and innocents. With the guilt burning inside of him and his past as Odin’s sundered, he became a Dark Knight in hopes of doing some good in the world even though his body and mind was better suited for mentally taxing jobs.

It was from that point in time that he participated in the Dragonsong War, aided in the liberation of Doma and the slaying of Emet-Selch. All the while transitioning from a Dark Knight into a Samurai, then finally a Scholar.

Now he spends his days studying and healing others. Like always, if anyone is in need, he will provide them aid. Most of all, with his memories of any potential family he may have had long gone, he seeks to build his own and settle down.

Personality and Beliefs

On the surface, Amund is quite reserved in social situations. In reality he lives with Aspergers and has difficulty when engaging with others he doesn’t know. The biggest wall comes in the form of having trouble interpreting the facial expressions of those he doesn’t know and having difficulty with social cues. This tends to make him a little apprehensive when it comes to interacting at times.

Living with Aspergers has made him a bit quirky. It drives his obsessive tendency to hoard books and other mediums of knowledge as he absolutely loves to learn. This thirst for learning has made him a rather decent mage with an aptitude towards the healing arts as a Scholar.

Amund is altruistic to a fault. In his spare time, he enjoys providing aid to others. Whether it is through healing or teaching, he enjoys helping and it gives him a chance to flex his knowledge.

The journey to obtain the wealth of knowledge he now contains in his mind has never been an easy one. Dyslexia has always been a hurdle, but he makes due. Over time he trained himself and learned little tricks that made reading easier.

The rather inquisitive side of him makes him naturally observant and gives him a keen eye. As such, he tends to be on the bad end of those that are comfortable with the status quo. While he doesn’t like too much change, if it makes things more efficient or changes things for the better, it's simply logical.

Being a Keeper of the Moon, Amund has more matriarchal leanings and is a follower of Menphina. In the clan, the mother guides and takes charge. Whether or not they choose to have offspring, women are revered as the givers of life and teach the young love, compassion and empathy. All are traits deemed necessary to find common ground and promote harmony. Those teachings make Amund a natural healer and caregiver.

Amund knows nothing about his past or his real age, but deep in his heart he feels that he was close to his mother, if not a bit of a mama's boy, and whatever family he had is long dead. Regardless, he feels like the relationship he had with them was a close, positive one and tries to live his life in a way that would make them happy.
